Report a problem
You can also check existing reports. Include your device, Gumbo version, what you expected, and the steps that caused the problem. GitHub reports are public: leave out passwords, tokens, server addresses and private music files.
Private beta feedback
On iPhone, iPad or Mac, open TestFlight, select Gumbo Music and choose Send Beta Feedback. On Apple TV, the developer contact is under Information → App Details. Apple sends your chosen comments, screenshots and diagnostics to the developer.
Connecting to your library
The current public beta connects to Synology DSM using File Station. Use a NAS account with access to your music folder. For HTTPS, use a hostname covered by the NAS certificate. A reachable IP address can still fail certificate validation.
When away from home, your device needs a route to your NAS, such as a configured VPN. Tailscale provides connectivity, but its IP address does not make a mismatched HTTPS certificate valid. Gumbo does not open router ports or change your NAS configuration.
Music, profiles and downloads
Your originals stay on your NAS. Profiles, favourites, playlists and download selections can sync through iCloud. Each device downloads its own audio copies. Optional sign-in sync uses iCloud Keychain on iPhone, iPad and Mac; enable Passwords & Keychain on each device.
If a song will not play, check the connection and try another song first. A playback error alone does not prove a file is damaged. Review files before deleting shared originals.
Privacy requests and support records
For a private request during the beta, use TestFlight feedback and mention “Privacy request”. You can ask about access, correction or deletion of information sent to the developer. Do not post personal information in a public issue.
Public issue reports and their discussion remain with the project on GitHub unless removed through GitHub or by the maintainer. Use GitHub’s editing controls to remove details you no longer want visible, or ask the maintainer to review a report. Apple separately controls TestFlight’s feedback records and retention.
